Now here’s an oddity. Inevitably there was a version of Cassette 50 for the ZX Spectrum. However, if you have a look at the entry for it on World Of Spectrum you’ll notice that some of the games have different titles than the ones that appeared on the Commodore 64, Acorn Electron & ZX81 versions that we’ve already covered.
Even more interestingly, there is another ZX Spectrum compilation called Spectrum 50 Games by a publisher called U.T.S. which does feature the same game names as the “classic” Cassette 50 Games.
I’d already decided that the next format I was going to cover was the Speccy, but this left me with something of a dilemma – go with Cassette 50 with it’s new and exotic game names or Spectrum 50 Games to keep consistent with the games already covered?
Ultimately I decided I’m doing the Cassette 50. Though I may go on to do the U.T.S. games that don’t appear on Cassette 50 for the sake of the comparison chart at some point in the future.
(Who am I kidding, of course I will).
