Plasma Bolt (Dragon 32 Cassette 50 Game 5 – 1983 & 1984 versions)

This game is so good* it will make you shoot your (plasma) bolt.
Bucking the trend we’ve had thus far with the Dragon 32 Cassette 50 (though, to be fair, we are only on Game 5) the 1983 version is better than the ‘enhanced’ 1984 version.

*It’s not good. It’s shit.

The only proportionate response to the threat of being touched by some plasma is to fire some massive missiles at it.

Sentinel-1 (Vic-20 Cassette 50 Game 32)

Who is the mysterious Sentinel-1? is it the space ship you’re flying? Is it the gates you have to destroy? Is it a bigger, more powerful enemy that you’ll never see unless you play this game for four days straight without dying?

Well, don’t look at me. I don’t know the answer.

This game is very similar to Plasma Bolt on the Commodore 64 Cassette 50.

So the thing is, you now live on a planet where you have to collect plasma bolts in a jug, and then fire them back up at these things coming down at you. I think I’d move house. You can’t be staying here for the view, it’s awful.

It’s always the way isn’t it? You try and fly your spaceship around and some idiot puts plasma bolts in the way. Well, it’s either crash into them or shoot them, and I’m not prepared to crash. Have you seen how much the insurance premiums are on a space ship?

If I was the one person who stood between some marauding aliens and their invasion of earth, where they would enslave the entire human population…

…then we’d all be fucked:
