Star Trek (Amstrad Cassette 50 Game 6)

I don’t know what I can write about Star Trek any more. I think I used up all my vitriol about how much I dislike it in previous videos. Ugghggh.
Anyway, here’s anotherCassette 50 Star Trek game. There’s warp factors and Klingons and all that other stuff. Knock yourself out.

Star Trekking across the universe
The TV show was terrible
Cassette 50’s even worse.

How do you say “Star Trek is rubbish” in Klingon?

It’s the flipping Starship Enterprise again isn’t it? Getting itself stuck in some sort of cavern with wildly erratic asteroids throwing itself at the ship. The crew having to sort this mess out while Kirk goes off and bums an alien. Pffffft.

I’m not a big fan of Star Trek, so this game never really stood a chance of getting a good review regardless of whether it was on Cassette 50 or not:

Do you want Kirk kissing an alien, or men with Cornish pasties on their heads or Whoopi Goldberg working behind a bar, or even some JJ Abrams lens flare? Or any other lazy cliche about Star Trek you or I care to regurgitate?

There might be some of that in this game*, but I don’t know because I lost the will to live halfway through reading the on-screen instructions. That’s not really a surprise given that I’ve never even watched an episode of Star Trek anyway and couldn’t really give a stuff about Klingons and Borg and that bloke in The Next Generation who’s supposed to be a robot but just looks like he has jaundice. (Cue the emails of complaint from men who have never touched another person in a sexy way telling me how amazing Deep Space 9 is).

(* there isn’t)
